Customize your Google Now Launcher with Xposed GEL Settings

Lots of people are currently using the Google Now Launcher (previously known as Google Experience), which is some kind of Google launcher running in stock on Google Nexus 5. Unfortunately, this launcher cannot be edited or customized in any way (instead of Nova Launcher), so as you might expect, there's a mod (xposed module, more precisely) that enables customization for Google Now Launcher (GEL)!

First of all, this mod is a xposed module, which requires the Xposed Framework installed (not hard to install), which requires a rooted device. To install & download the Xposed Framework, check HERE.

As you have the Xposed Framework installed, download the GEL settings mod, activate it and reboot your device to take the effect.

What does this mod do?

  • hide Google search bar / automatically show search bar on Google Now
  • hide apps from the app drawer
  • resize the home screen grid
  • change the number of hotseat apps (icons above the navigation bar)
  • hide icon labels on home screen and/or on app drawer
  • apply settings without rebooting your device
  • more to come
