Do you have any system app that you don't use and basically you don't need it? Why not to Freeze It! This simple app easily and incredibly fastly freezes any app you want, so your device will be faster, lighter and simplier!
Let's face it: big manufacturers such as LG, Samsung or others implements useless (for some useful) apps that makes the system slower, and takes a bunch of free storage. These apps are called bloatware. If you're rooted, no problem for you! You can always delete the app, right? Or no?
Well, the problem might be, if you delete any system app, you just can't update your device using OTA (Over-The-Air) update. So how to get rid of it? Freeze It!
Freeze It is very (very) simple app, yet it has very (very) useful usage. Using android shell command pm disable it freezes (or disables) any app (whether it's system or user app) and makes it basically invisible. Not only invisible to you, but also invisble to system. It's just literally gone.
When the OTA update finally arrives, don't worry! You can always restore your freezed app and make it "visible" to system! Don't worry, no system nor user data are lost. App is free and available on Google Play:
DriveDroid is an amazing app that allows you to boot your PC from ISO/IMG files stored on your phone. No need to burn CD's or use USB flash disk!
DriveDroid also includes a convenient download menu where you can download USB-images of a number of operating systems from your phone (like Mint, Ubuntu, Fedora, OpenSUSE and Arch Linux). Around 35 different systems are available in this app.
You can obviously create a blank image, if you want. This app uses the features of the kernel that might not work properly on all devices, though, so be careful with using this app.
App comes in two versions, if you want to support the dev, definitely buy the full one!
CyanogenMod, one of the most famous and most used ROMs, has a bunch of extra special apps, such like special sound booster, DSP Manager, customizable launcher Trebuchet, and neat wallpapers. Till this day, you couldn't get these without having CyanogenMod ROM installed or you have to be rooed and had to flash some ZIPs in case to install them. Not anymore! "CM APPS" app now lets you to install these special CyanogenMod-only apps on your non-cyanogen and non-rooted device as well!
No questions asked. Just tap the app, download & install. That's pretty much all you need to do. Ain't that cool?
There have been plenty of WiFi hacking tutorial so I've finally decided to make one. In this one we'll be hacking a WEP secured WiFi using aircrack-ng and bcmon for Android. Let's do it!
We obviously need a rooted device for this action. Unfortunately, we also need a monitor mode for Android, which isn't currently supported for all devices. Some known are Nexus7, Nexus One, Galaxy S2 and some more. You can check your luck HERE. On the brighter side, to install Bcmon, you don't need to flash or compile anything anymore, just install this APK:
After downloading, open it and enable the monitor mode. If it continuously crashes on your device, it's mostly likely due to non-compatibility. Bummer.
If everything went as expected, you're free to run bcmon terminal. This will launch the command prompt where we'll be finding the key for our WiFi.
Type airodump-ng to the terminal. Wait till it loads.
Type airodump-ng wlan0
Write down the MAC adress of the router.
Now we need to collect some packages so we can crack the key. Type: airodump-ng -c channel# --bssid MAC address -w output ath0
Wait till you got about 30 000 packets.
Now you're ready to crack. Type aircrack-ng output*.cap
This will create an output file. While KEY FOUND! message appears, check the output. Make sure the probability of the key is the highest possible.
Now you got the key! Enter it without ":" (e.g: ab:cd:ef, you enter abcdef).
It doesn't have to be that difficult!
Hacks are getting more and more easier to use and more available even for non-professional users. An XDA member deviato has published an awesome app that can do all of this cool stuff on its own.
Basically, the only thing you do, is to push some buttons and than wait till the key is found.
It has three section: fake autoh, deauth/capturing, and crack section.
Security is one of the most important things, especially when talking about phones. Thieves are getting smarter and smarter and can even guess your password. Lockscreen pattern is one of the most used security locks on Android. Unfortunately, the patterns that people choose are getting more and more used-up and it's easirer to guess them. But what if the grid is 6x6?
The standart lockscreen pattern grid on Android is 4x4. That's 16 dots to be connected. A bunch of options, though, but nobody will probably choose the one that takes half a minute to draw. People are getting lazier and so their patterns. But what if you got a 6x6 grid? Now that's security.
For usual ROM-changers, it's not any special - most of the custom ROMs like CyanogenMod or any other ROM has already implemented this tweak to their systems but for some people (especially for people using stock Android) is still this feature brand new. This mod is a xposed module, so you will have to install Xposed Framework first. (Check HERE).
While installed, go to modules section and download the module called CyanLock. After installing, reboot. To get this 6x6 pattern grid, simply go to settings -> security and choose the one you want to use.
You have a few options: 3x3, 4x4, 5x5 and 6x6. To uninstall this module, go back to Xposed Framework and remove the module.
OnePlus One, the flagship killer, as they call it, is a beast with amazing performance, speed, has amazing specs and all. Besides this, it's powered by CyanogenMod 11S, which brings us some more stuff like new camera, gallery and comes with Themer. Other words, it's even more customizable than CM11 is. Now, as you might expect, this all new stuff has been ported and is now available for every other Android device!
I am personally very comfortable with using the CM camera, it has a lot of settings, nice interface and unlike Google camera it contains time lapse feature.
To install the APK's, simply download them and install them as user apps. No root access is needed.
Have you forgotten the lockscreen pattern on your device? Are you miserable because you don't want to wipe all your data? Don't worry, there's an easy way for this! Let's take a look how to bypass secured lockscreen on Android. There are two ways to bypass lockscreen on your Android device.
The first way is easy, boot the device into recovery mode and factory reset the phone to remove all data stored on the device - lockscreen included. You can find the combination which will boot the device into recovery mode on the internet, that's no big deal.
But that's not what we want. We want to reset the lockscreen only, so all the data stored on the device are accessible and untouched.
First of all, there's a hiccup. Your device has to have USB Debugging enabled in case to bypass the lockscreen. If it's not enabled but you have custom recovery, try downloading and flashing THIS zip. This will reset the lockscreen to its default. Might or might not work. Another hiccup, your device has to be rooted. There is (fortunately) no other way besides that. Why's that? We will be formatting system data through our PC, hence the device has to be capable of removing/rewritting system data - has to be rooted.
Let's do this!
First of all, download the ADB package (ADB, or Android Debug Bridge, is a tool that lets you control your Android-powered device through your computer using terminal.)
Unzip the package and put the folder to somewhere you want. Open the folder, hold SHIFT and RIGHT CLICK. Choose open in command prompt. A black window will appear. That's the command prompt.
First of all, type ADB DEVICE (with lowercase letters)and ensure your device is recognizable by ADB. You should see a hash with "device" next to it. If nothing pops up, bad luck. ADB drivers are not setup or USB debugging is not enabled.
See the device? Hurray! Access the shell by typing adb shell
Next, grant the superuser permissions by typing su into the terminal. You should see "#" symbol representing the superuser permissions are granted for your device.
Now just paste these three lines separately into the console.
rm /data/system/locksettings.db rm /data/system/locksettings.db-wall rm /data/system/locksettings.db-shm Done? Type reboot. This will reset your phone. You're done.
HTC One M8 has revealed a bunch of cool stuff including this new interface with Blinkfeed launcher. For those you like it, this is good news! You can now get this awesome launcher on your Android device, too! Moreover, root is not needed!
An XDA member gakugaku has created an awesome port for all Android devices running on 4.4+ that lets us to install the BlinkFeed launcher without having root.
Installing procedure is pretty easy, all yuo need to do is to download a package and install the APK's in it.
I'm pretty sure you all have already heard about one of the most complete and one of the best hacking tool called BackTrack. It contains almost every hacking tool you may need including the Aircrack-ng, which cracks secured WiFi (pretty fast, I can say). Unfortunately, Backtrack has been stopped maintained and it's not supported anymore. The new generation has come: Kali.
Now as you might expect, Kali is developed either for PC's but also for Android CPU architecture.
It's not that hard to install Kali on your Android device and if you have enough space on your phone, you're good to go.
Installing Kali
First of all, download Linux Deployapp. This app lets you to easily install any Linux OS that's supported for your phone.
Open it, setup the distribution (Kali) and setup your screen VNC width and height to resolution of your phone (e.g 1920x1080 if you have Nexus 5, Htc One and other FullHD phones).
After setting, click on install. Make sure you have enough space on your phone (about 7GB is required). After isntalling, click on reconfigure. After reconfiguring, click the START button and mount the system.
Most of you already heeard about Tor. It's a software for PC that prevents websites and people from tracking your location and basically protects you and keeps you anonymous. Tor is an open source and is now available for Android!
Tor (or Orbot) is the safest way to use the web. It uses this special technique to keep you safe; instead of using proxy and VPN, Tor hides you by bouncing through series of PC's all around the world.
As the New York Times writes, “when a communication arrives from Tor, you can never know where or whom it’s from.”
Orbot dosn't require root to work but if you want to enable some extra features like Transparent proxying and some more cool stuff, you might want to grant the #su to this app.
It is kind of a fashion thing to hack games, such as life, money, coins or whatever. There are many hacking apps out there but most of them are not quite complete. Most of them does not even work. Fortunately, there's one that works and offers all the features in one app! What is it? The Game Hacker.
Game Hacker is an amazing that works on all devices, has a cool interface and even more cooler features.
It's a complete hacking tool for games. Memory functions, adress changing, working speedhack and that all included in one app.
As mentioned, app also has the speed-hack feature, which lets you to speed up any game you want (this might be useful when waiting for coins, etc.). I've tried some speed hack features on other apps but did not find them working, this one has a cool pause the game and force speed hack feature, which will enable this feature on all apps.
Check the demonstration video of speedhack working on Auralux:
HTC One M8 is the current flagship with a stunning performance, RAM and many other stuff. It also brings a bunch of features including the motinon launch gesture, which lets user to quickly access to apps without having the display enabled. This feature is now available for all Android device with this awesome app caleld Knockr!
As mentioned above, Knockr lets you to enter any app using gestures without having to turn the screen on. There are four types of gestures:
Double Tap
Swipe up/down/sideways
Long press
Volume up (this will quickly open the camera)
You can obviously choose which app you want to open by these gestures above.
Unfortunately (and fortunately at the same time), Knockr doesn't require root but works ONLY on OLED displays (Moto X, AMOLED..etc.). Why? It's because OLED pixels automatically turns off when they turn black. If you don't have the OLED, don't be sad, I'm pretty sure the app will continue with development and make this possible on other devices as well.
App comes as a free app available on Google Play Store.
The best shots are created in fractions of seconds, even miliseconds. If we want to create a stunning camera shot, we just need to be fast and always ready to capture the right moment. Well, this might be the problem of smartphone cameras nowadays because they just don't launch that fast as we want so the moment we want to capture is just gone. But what if we want to take photos without camera opened, would that be possible? Yes, it would! With Shoot It!
"Shoot it" is an awesome app letting you to capture photos any time you want without having camera opened. It's fast and simple. The app is just an icon - no interface or design is included. To take a photo, just tap it. That's everything you need to do. Your photo will be automaticlly taken and will be stored to your classic photo storage.
App is available for about 1.6$, which is not much, but if you're afraid of buying the app, you can get the free version to try it out for yourself!
The full version offers two modes: stealth and shoot mode. Stealth does not make any sounds and flash is disabled and shoot mode, as you might expect, contains shutter sound and comes with auto flash.
