It's been a little while since the new Samsung flagship reveal, that also showed us the new version of Touchwiz followed by bunch of new apps, mostly with a new Material Design-ish overhaul. Guess what, they are ported!
Unfortunately, all these apps are working on Touchwiz-powered ROMs only (Samsung devices only, in other words). Here's a little list of what apps do we have now:
Launcher
AccuWeather widget
Music Player
Keyboard
Smart Manager
S Health
WallpaperPicker
Gallery
Browser
MyFiles
GalaxyApps
Calculator
SnapBiz Card
S Translator
S Note
And a few more.
As you might've guessed, root is needed for installation of some of the apps.
Before replacing any APK in the /system directory, be sure to make a Nandroid backup first!

OnePlus One Lockscreen on your device? Why not! Check this awesome port out!
A Developer called abell413, has already ported one of awesome lockscreens, the Android L lockscreen (download here). Now he ported a lockscreen from one of the most powerful and most discussed devices on the market available, the OnePlus One!
The lockscreen looks and feels the same just as it is in CyanogenMod 11S. You can customize the colors, and it's very intuitive, too! By default it shows you the current date & time, battery life and notifications. It also has its interface when listening to music. You can also access the camera by swyping to the left.
Security is one of the most important things, especially when talking about phones. Thieves are getting smarter and smarter and can even guess your password. Lockscreen pattern is one of the most used security locks on Android. Unfortunately, the patterns that people choose are getting more and more used-up and it's easirer to guess them. But what if the grid is 6x6?
The standart lockscreen pattern grid on Android is 4x4. That's 16 dots to be connected. A bunch of options, though, but nobody will probably choose the one that takes half a minute to draw. People are getting lazier and so their patterns. But what if you got a 6x6 grid? Now that's security.
For usual ROM-changers, it's not any special - most of the custom ROMs like CyanogenMod or any other ROM has already implemented this tweak to their systems but for some people (especially for people using stock Android) is still this feature brand new. This mod is a xposed module, so you will have to install Xposed Framework first. (Check HERE).
While installed, go to modules section and download the module called CyanLock. After installing, reboot. To get this 6x6 pattern grid, simply go to settings -> security and choose the one you want to use.
You have a few options: 3x3, 4x4, 5x5 and 6x6. To uninstall this module, go back to Xposed Framework and remove the module.
Have you forgotten the lockscreen pattern on your device? Are you miserable because you don't want to wipe all your data? Don't worry, there's an easy way for this! Let's take a look how to bypass secured lockscreen on Android. There are two ways to bypass lockscreen on your Android device.
The first way is easy, boot the device into recovery mode and factory reset the phone to remove all data stored on the device - lockscreen included. You can find the combination which will boot the device into recovery mode on the internet, that's no big deal.
But that's not what we want. We want to reset the lockscreen only, so all the data stored on the device are accessible and untouched.
First of all, there's a hiccup. Your device has to have USB Debugging enabled in case to bypass the lockscreen. If it's not enabled but you have custom recovery, try downloading and flashing THIS zip. This will reset the lockscreen to its default. Might or might not work. Another hiccup, your device has to be rooted. There is (fortunately) no other way besides that. Why's that? We will be formatting system data through our PC, hence the device has to be capable of removing/rewritting system data - has to be rooted.
Let's do this!
First of all, download the ADB package (ADB, or Android Debug Bridge, is a tool that lets you control your Android-powered device through your computer using terminal.)
Unzip the package and put the folder to somewhere you want. Open the folder, hold SHIFT and RIGHT CLICK. Choose open in command prompt. A black window will appear. That's the command prompt.
First of all, type ADB DEVICE (with lowercase letters)and ensure your device is recognizable by ADB. You should see a hash with "device" next to it. If nothing pops up, bad luck. ADB drivers are not setup or USB debugging is not enabled.
See the device? Hurray! Access the shell by typing adb shell
Next, grant the superuser permissions by typing su into the terminal. You should see "#" symbol representing the superuser permissions are granted for your device.
Now just paste these three lines separately into the console.
rm /data/system/locksettings.db rm /data/system/locksettings.db-wall rm /data/system/locksettings.db-shm Done? Type reboot. This will reset your phone. You're done.
Another LG Optimus port brings the original LG Optimus lockscreen with all its features with no root needed! This lockscreen offers a complete LG UI with all the lockscreen features and lockscreen effects - particle, crystal, dewdrop, ripple and whitehole effect. All of these effects looks like on the original LG Optimus phone and it's basically the same.
A Well-known developer andev888 has already ported a Galaxy S4 lockscreen, which has been a big success - unlike other lockscreens, this one was perfectly made and came with the original effects and all features that the G4 Locker has (Download). andev888 is continuing his development and recently he's made a LG Optimus Lockscreen app which contains absolutely everything that is contained in the original LG locker. Well, check the screenshots -
Actually, there are five effects available and two of them require root access to work perfectly - DewDrop and crystal projection are capable of running without root but are not quite perfect, you'll see.
The entire app is available on Google Play for free:
