We've heard little about the next version of Samsung's smartwatch range, but a new patent suggests the company is experimenting with innovative new battery tech.
A patent - spotted by LetsGoDigital - shows a concept the company is playing with that will allow for extra battery to be included within the strap.
The battery technology will have to be both flexible and slim to be found in the tie, however the patent suggests this battery will be on both stops of the tie and let Samsung to incorporate two batteries, neither which will have to be in the torso of the watch.

Extra room

In line with the patent, Samsung will be able to incorporate this technology within components such as leather, polymer and plastic, which means you will not be limited to only one form of product covered about your wrist with this particular wearable.
With the battery going to the tie, Samsung would then have the ability to load the human body of its watch with other technology or make it an impression leaner on the wrist.
The patent causes it to be very apparent the business would desire to use this space for added functions though and even lists the some ideas of including a camera or fingerprint reader, as well as extra heartbeat, proximity and infrared technology too.
Whether this is ready for the business's next smartwatch - probably possibly theGear S4 or the Equipment Activity 2 - we do not know for certain. But ideally some of the technology we have observed here can one day be finished behind shut gates at Samsung for the next wearable release.
